The Department of Economics in the Terry College of Business does not have an independently operating terminal MA program. Therefore, we do not admit students from outside UGA into a Master's level program. However, we do provide the MA degree for two types of students. The first is for students who enter the Ph.D. program, but later decide not to pursue the Ph.D. The second is for UGA undergraduates who also seek to earn a MA degree. They can earn the MA by taking the classes required in the first year of the PhD program and writing a MA thesis.
