Poster Presentations


Planning to present a poster at a conference or meeting? Did you know you can print your poster for free at the Graduate School?

Who:
All graduate students who are presenting a poster session at an academic or professional conference
What:
Color posters up to 24" x 64" (maximum dimensions)
When:
By appointment; email gradinfo@uga.edu to arrange a time to print your poster
Where:
Graduate School, 320 E. Clayton Street, Suite 400 (above Doc Chey’s and Mellow Mushroom)
How:
Bring the following items to your appointment:
  1. Student ID
  2. Copy of official conference acceptance documentation that includes name, date, and location of the conference & title of the accepted poster session
  3. Paper for printing the poster (see below for paper specifications)
  4. File (see below for file format specifications) with poster prepared for printing

Paper Specifications

The Graduate School does not provide poster paper. You will need to purchase rolls of paper for the HP Designjet 130nr from an office supply store.

17 - 40 lb

Maximum of 24" wide
Finish:
Plain, gloss, satin, or matte

File Format Specifications

Type:
Microsoft Office 2003, Adobe CS2
Formatting:
Document size should match the size poster to be printed
Size:
Page size settings should be a maximum of 24" wide and 64" long; make sure it is proportional
Background:
White
Fonts:
True Type, commonly found on Windows machines

 

You may print ONE draft copy and ONE final copy of the poster. Proof read your file before printing!

Don't forget to include an an official University of Georgia logo on your poster. The Institution Identity Program has font guidelines, color codes, and downloadable logos to help you.
