Best Practices for Recruiting Graduate Students
Request Recruitment Materials
As you know, interaction with faculty members can be a great recruitment tool for your department and for the Graduate School as a whole. Whether you are going to give a lecture or research talk or visiting another university to recruit students for your department, the Graduate School can provide information and materials to take with you. Please email grecruit@uga.edu for more information.
Host a webinar for potential students
The Graduate School is available to assist departments that would like to host webinars. Past webinars include information sessions for pre-application students, accepted students, and students from Associated Colleges of the South (ACS) institutions. Please email Melissa Barry at mjb14@uga.edu to find out more information.
Graduate Dean’s Fund for Student Recruitment
The Dean assists departments in bringing in their best and brightest prospective students each year. The purpose of this funding is for accepted students to visit campus, learn more about their program of interest, and meet the department’s professors and current students. Information about the travel fund is sent to the Graduate Coordinators listserv by mid-February of each year.
