Dean Grasso announces retirement from UGA

Dean Maureen Grasso

Dean Maureen Grasso has announced that she will retire from UGA on July 1, 2014. Serving as Dean of the Graduate School for the past 12 years, she has implemented a number of initiatives to enhance graduate education at UGA, which include improving doctoral completion, initiating professional development programs and funding opportunities for graduate students, and establishing endowed funding for graduate fellowships. She has enjoyed working with the faculty, staff, and students to advance graduate education at UGA. After retirement, she plans to move to North Carolina to be near her family and will become Dean of the Graduate School at North Carolina State University.

UGA’s new student information system Athena preparing to launch

Athena, a new student information system that will replace OASIS, is preparing to launch for fall 2014 enrollment. Once fully launched, Athena will allow students to easily access academic and financial aid records, register for classes, pay tuition and fees, and update personal information, all in one location.
